Raising My Upper Limit
Summary:
Lisa’s note when she booked her sit said “I have been nominated for a life-changing prize and need your perspective to help showcase my good work”.
When we began, her Mind and Doer were immediately present. They gave a very nice, rational summary of her situation … to which I responded with thanks and appreciation.
They explained that they knew that a video had to be created. However, from their vantage point, they were uncomfortable that action was not immediately happening.
I suggested we travel down into the Body (specifically the Heart and Belly) to see what might be interfering with the Mind and Doer’s desire for immediate action.
We travelled respectfully to the Heart and encountered a sad tenderness. Her father died just a week ago (so sorry). Her youngest child was going to be leaving for college soon (awwwww). And the video task was bringing up some body issues.
In response, we spent some time just BEING with those understandably tender places (we’re here, we’re here … awwww no rush or immediate action needed).
Eventually, we continued our descent even further, down to Lisa’s Belly, where we encountered Agitation and Nervousness (hello!).
There was fear of offending. And fear of the stakes being high. And fear that great doors could be opened. Has she got what it takes?! Does her body of work?
We ran smack into her upper limits. Is it the time to bust through? (almost). What if getting the prize kills her other project? (not necessary, she can do both). Is it ethical to apply funds to the other project (yes, there are no strings attached).
Then Lisa’s MIND/HEART/BELLY synced.
Find a way. Make the room. Acknowledge the hard work it will take. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of progress. Be real. We have options. If it’s meant to be, it will be …
Ahhhhhhh lovely. Thanks for dropping by Lisa. I look forward to reports!
